On April 20, 2026, a delegation led by Mr. Mohamed Basam Adam, Chairman of the China-Maldives Business Gateway Association, visited the China City Development Alliance Overseas Joint Development Committee.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on jointly promoting business cooperation between China and the Maldives. The China-Maldives Business Gateway Association is registered and incorporated in the Maldives, committed to advancing cooperation between China and the Maldives. 2026年1月5日，中国-马尔代夫（粤港澳大湾区）经贸合作中心在广州市南沙区正式启动，中心由中国城市发展联盟海外联合发展工作委员会、广州市南沙区人民政府、马尔代夫驻华大使馆及马尔代夫渔业和海洋资源部共同支持设立，旨在打造服务中马两国企业、促进双向投资与贸易的综合性区域平台。
On January 5, 2026, the China-Maldives (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area) Economic and Trade Cooperation Center was officially launched in Nansha District, Guangzhou. Supported by the China City Development Alliance Overseas Joint Development Committee, the People’s Government of Nansha District, Guangzhou, the Embassy of the Maldives to China, and the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources of the Maldives, the Center aims to build a comprehensive regional platform serving enterprises of both countries and facilitating two-way investment and trade.
